This is a call for expressions of interest for the 2012 Interferometry Imaging Beauty Contest being organized by the IAU Commission 54 Working Group on Image Reconstruction.
For the last two years, Georgia State University has offered community access to the Center for High Angular Resolution Astronomy (CHARA) six-telescope optical interferometer array at Mt. Wilson Observatory through the NOAO TAC. This led to the scheduling of 7 programs over the two years. Of the 5 executed so far, all but one have obtained useful data. In the current September, 2011, Newsletter, NOAO and GSU announce a continuation of this opportunity into 2012.
The Keck Interferometer will cease operations at the end of the 2012A observing semester (February - July 2012). If you wish to observe with it, you need to submit your proposals by 15 September 2011.
Geoff Marcy gave a talk recently at a Workshop hosted by Sara Seager that has received some press. He reflected on the fate of interferometry in the past decade and the outlook for the future. On 17 March 2011 light collected by all four of the 8-metre Unit Telescopes of ESO's Very Large Telescope was successfully combined for the first time, using the PIONIER instrument. See the press release from ESO.

The Los Angeles Times ran an article on January 20th describing Brian Kloppenborg's continuing efforts to observe the Epsilon Aurigae system with the CHARA Array.
